• PRIOR TO ACCEPTANCE, THE DYS EXAM (BASIC) THROUGH UNA IS REQUIRED ALONG WITH ACCEPTANCE.
• MUST BE COMPLETED WITHIN 24-48 HRS.
• IT'S PASS OR FAIL AND THEY GET 2 ATTEMPTS.

  • A hospital near Sacramento is looking for experienced MedSurg/Telemetry nurses for a travel contract.
  • The right candidate will be able to read/interpret EKG strips, have 2 years of experience.

    • Hold an active BLS, ACLS, NIH and CA License
      • Schedule Information
      • 12 hr shifts. 7 - 730. Report is at the bedside.
      • OT and extra shifts are available.
      • Self-scheduling is used, but is not finalized until Manager balances it.
      • Schedules are out 4 weeks.
      • Travelers can access their schedules from home and make themselves 'available' for extra shifts and make trades with other staff.
      • Block scheduling is generally not available.
        • Unit Specific Information
        • Unit: 2A and 3A MedSurg Tele
        • - # beds: 30 (2A) and 14 (3A)
        • - Ratios: 1:4-5. 1:4 if all tele patients.
        • - EMR: Cerner
        • - Charge Nurse: Yes
        • - Nurse Aides: Yes as census and staffing dictates
        • - Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
        • - Holidays: Rotate in with core staff
        • - Scrub Color: Navy
        • - Tele: Yes
        • - Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: Yes
        • - IV Team: No
        • - RT 24/7: Yes
        • - Pharmacy 24/7: Yes
        • - Floating: All other Sacramento facilities.
        • - Floor specific orientation: 1 - 2 days on the floor with preceptor.
        • - Common diagnosis / Types of patients: All medical - general mix. Post op orthopedics and general surgeries.
        • - Additional Notes: Need good customer service skills and communication skills.
          • Additional Details
          • Modules are required done before start. Modules take 3-4 hours - not billable
          • For Holiday RTO: Travelers will work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years).
          • Managers will make the final call on scheduling.
